Equity for independent sponsors
The capital to close, and a partner for the hold.
Sponsors Equity backs independent sponsors with committed equity for their acquisitions — then stays on as an engaged co-investor and board member through the life of the investment.
How we work
An equity partner, not just a check.
Equity to close
We anchor your deal with committed equity, moving with the certainty and speed a sponsor needs to win a competitive process. And we help you get it done — our network of advisors and lenders lines up the financing and clears the path to the closing table.
Engaged board partner
After close we serve as an active co-investor and board member — a sounding board on strategy, hiring, and capital, without crowding the operator. Our network of advisors supports the team on AI transformation, sales, and hiring.
Sponsor-first economics
We structure economics that respect the work the sponsor does. Terms are straightforward, aligned, and built for a strong partnership.

What we look for.
Why sponsors work with us
The partner we'd want across the table.
Certainty of close
We commit early and we close. Sponsors bring us into competitive processes because we do what we say and move on the timeline the deal requires.
Respect for the sponsor and the operator
We've sat in both the CEO seat and the board seat. We know when to lean in and when to stay out of the way, and we treat the sponsor as the driver of the business.
A partner for the whole hold
We're not passive capital that disappears after the wire. We stay engaged on the questions that actually determine the outcome.
Managing partner
Kevin Oxendine
Managing Partner, Sponsors Equity
Kevin founded Sponsors Equity to be the kind of capital partner he'd want on the other side of the table — aligned, engaged, and straightforward.
He is an experienced investor, having backed more than 80 companies and served on over a dozen boards. He was previously a Partner at Pacific Lake Partners, the leading investor in entrepreneurship through acquisition, where he was frequently the lead investor and lead board member on the firm's key acquisitions.
Kevin is also a two-time operator. He acquired Havit with a partner in 2010, which he sold in 2014, then partnered with the founders of Wistia, leading a recapitalization of the business in 2017.
He graduated from the University of Maryland, where he was the Byrd Award winner, and from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Kevin resides in the Boston area with his wife Kate and two sons, and can often be found coaching on a baseball diamond or soccer field.
